Arithmetic and Weighted Average
How to use:
Arithmetic Average: Arithmetic Average: Sum of values ÷ number of values
Weighted Average: Weighted Average: Sum of (value × weight) ÷ sum of weights
Example:
Grades: 7, 8.5, 9, 6.5, 8
Weights: 2, 3, 2, 1, 2 (e.g., test weights)
Arithmetic Average: (7+8.5+9+6.5+8)/5 = 7.8
Weighted Average: (7×2+8.5×3+9×2+6.5×1+8×2)/(2+3+2+1+2) = 7.85
